After breakfast in the morning proceed for the full day experience of Old & New Delhi.

We will begin the tour from Raj Ghat – the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, Red Fort, the grand residence of Mughal emperors, built by Emperor Shah Jahan; Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India; and enjoy a walking tour in Chandni Chowk – the silver street of Delhi bustling with activity.

Afternoon, lunch at a beautiful heritage haveli in Old Delhi.

In the afternoon visit Qutab Minar, the tallest stone tower in India; following this we proceed to explore Humayun’s Tomb, built in the Indo Persian style and a predecessor to The Taj Mahal in Agra; as well as drive past India Gate – A War Memorial Arch. Also drive past the President’s house, Parliament house, Government secretariat buildings and Connaught place – the heart of New Delhi and a busy shopping center.

Evening, we will have a special dinner at a leading restaurant with culinary expert (authors and masterchefs often join us as the storytellers).

After breakfast, we check-out of the hotel and proceed to visit one of the most prominent holy Sikh temple of Sikh religion – The Bangla Sahib Gurudwara. The complex of Gurudwara Bangla Sahib has a main prayer hall, a holy Sarovar or lake, a hospital, Baba Baghel Singh Museum and a library within its premises. People visiting here get ‘Kada Prasad’ and free langar or ‘community meals’ are served at a particular time. Also visit Agrasen ki baoli is a stepwell, otherwise known as “baoli”. Thousands of these sophisticated water-harvesting structures proliferated throughout India beginning around 600 CE, but they fell into disuse with the advent of water pumps and plumbing. Flights of steps were excavated adjacent to deep well shafts, ensuring that dramatically-fluctuating ground water could be reached all year long.

Post visit, drive to Agra, (approximately 205 KM, 4 hours drive from Delhi). Check-in at hotel upon arrival.

Sunrise visit to Taj Mahal (Closed on Friday’s). Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as an expression of his love for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, in mid17th century, the Taj Mahal is truly one of the wonders of the world. After visit, return back to hotel for breakfast.

Post breakfast, visit Agra Fort, explore beautiful palaces and gardens inside the fort. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty till 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. The Agra fort is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Following this, we then continue our drive to Ramathra Fort (Approximately 200 Kms / 5 Hrs). On the way visit the deserted Red sandstone city – Fatehpur Sikri, the city was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital. It offers a unique example of Architectural ensembles of very high quality constructed between 1571 and 1585.

Evening, as an option, we may consider Boating at Sunset, in a traditional row boat in the kalisil dam. It is peaceful & picturesque with breathtaking views of the sunset & rich with birdlife.

This morning, indulge yourself in the Village Trail Experience. A complete walking tour of Ramathra village, a small hamlet of farmers and cattle herders, takes about 3 hours. You see all kinds of work associated with tending crops and animals.

Post visit, embark on a drive to Jaipur (Approximately 170 Kms / 4 Hrs). Check-in at hotel upon arrival.

Jaipur (City of Victory) was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727. It is the only city in the world symbolizing the nine divisions of the Universe through nine rectangular sectors sub-dividing it. The architect who formalized the city’s plans on the Shilpa Shastra, the epic Hindu treatise on architecture, mixed it with the sublimity of the Mughal and Jain influences of those times. The city was painted pink in 1853 in honour of the visit by Prince Albert.

The evening is free to explore the local markets and a food walking tour may be recommended for the guest’s based on their preferences.

In the evening, we suggest some leisure time as an option, for guests to enjoy the Bazaars, Crafts & Cuisines. Since its foundation in 1727, the royal family and nobles of Jaipur had been patronizing various craftsmen and artisans of Pink City. Many of these traditions continue to this day making the modern day Jaipur a favorable destination to witness India’s rich Art & Craft. Traditional methods are still used to produce valuable and highly prized items.

After breakfast, proceed for the excursion of Amber Fort with a stop at Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). This magnificent fort is a blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. The visit is led by a historian and local expert, to guide the guests through the magnificent stories and intricacies of the architecture of the fort.

Later visit the City Palace, a beautiful palace complex full of treasures now housed in the museum area. It is a delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture. With a traditional thali meal recommended, as a culinary experience, we also then proceed to visit Jantar Mantar or Royal Astronomical Observatory.

Afternoon, proceed for Bagru Excursion (Approx. 30 Kms / 1 Hrs – oneway).

Known for its unique art of Block Printing, Bagru is a small town in the outskirts of Jaipur which has emerged as one of the industrial areas for textile printing in Rajasthan with over a 100 cottage scale workshops. While travelling to Rajasthan, there is no parallel to seeing Artists at work and learn an age old art they have been practicing over generations. Block Printing is an art of printing natural colours on different fabrics using finely carved ‘designer’ wooden blocks. The art involves multiple processes like Washing, Colour making, Block making, reverse printing, multiple printing, boiling, drying, etc.

During our Workshop, we will first take a village tour visiting different houses where each family is engaged in one of the process of Block printing. We then, try our own skills to make a beautiful block printed fabric using designer blocks under the supervision of Master artisan.

A curated dinner at a venue within the city may be recommended or the hotel, based on the guest’s preferences.

As an option, we may consider Jaipur Cycle Tour (we propose this as an option for those who wish to consider the cycling tour in place of the artisanal visit).

Udaipur, formerly the capital of the Mewar Kingdom, is a city in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. Founded by Maharana Udai Singh II in 1559, it’s set around a series of artificial lakes and is known for its lavish royal residences. City Palace, overlooking Lake Pichola, is a monumental complex of 11 palaces, courtyards and gardens, famed for its intricate peacock mosaics.

Later, proceed on a guided tour of Udaipur to visit the City Palace, built in 1725, the grand City Palace is actually a conglomerate of eleven palaces overlooking the sprawling Lake Pichola. One of the largest, most beautiful palaces in the state of Rajasthan, it is now a museum, royal residence and a luxury hotel. This intricately designed monument is an architectural wonder in granite and marble. We also visit the Jagdish Temple built in 1651 by Maharaja Jagat Singh, this temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is located in the centre of the old city. The temple has a black marble image of Lord Vishnu, which is unusual for the northern part of the country, where statues of Gods are normally in marble. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a leisurely boat ride on Lake Pichola, with its main attractions being the two palaces on the islands in the lake, Jagniwas and Jagmandir, the former earlier being the summer retreat of the prince of Mewar and now a hotel.

This morning we’ll drive through valleys in the remote and peaceful Aravalli Range to Ranakpur to visit one of the most important Jain temples in India. This marble complex is noted for the 29 halls supported by 1,444 pillars, each adorned with hundreds of carved figures, no two alike. Lunch may be organised at Mountbatten Lodge. Just four suites nestled into the rugged Aravallis is Mountbatten Lodge said to have been inspired by a popular lore that believes that Lord Mountbatten once camped here. It was built to reflect the British penchant for the wilderness with no compromise on space or luxury. With an attitude that spells colonial India, open spaces under the sun, stylishly laid out dinners with liveried staff in attendance bring to fore a languid sense of being pampered as in the days of the Raj.

By the evening, drive back to hotel in Udaipur.

Post breakfast, experience Vintage Car Ride. Take a ride in one of the cars from the bygone era of the automobile industry. The vintage car will take the guest into the neighboring village where the guests can walk around and interact with the local residents and get an insight into their way of living. Afternoon, transfer to airport to board flight (1520 -1645 Hrs) to Delhi. Upon arrival at Delhi airport, connect your onward / return flight.
