After breakfast at the hotel, today the guests will be escorted to explore Hampi’s archaeological heritage!

The morning starts with visiting Sasivekalu Ganesha, a monolithic statue sculpted out of a huge boulder measures about 2.4 meters (8 feet). Following this, we go for a short hike to Hemakuta hill temple complex, purported as a canvas of stones which belong to the era before the Vijayanagara Empire was founded.

Our guests are then escorted to Virupaksha Temple. The east facing colossal tower (Gopura) leads us to the first courtyard of the temple complex. This 9 storied tower with a pair of cow horn like extensions on top is the most distinguished landmark in Hampi. The lower two tiers of the tower is made of decorated stone work.

Post lunch guests are driven to an excavated Krishna temple. Like many shrines and monuments in the erstwhile capital of Vijayanagara Empire, was ruined and defaced by the alliance of the Deccan Sultanates after the Battle of Talikote in 1565. A few hundred years later, the relics of the temple complex and the idol of Balakrishna were found during the excavation carried out by the ASI. The idol is currently housed at a museum run by the Archaeological department of Tamil Nadu in Chennai.

Further to these guests are driven to Badavilinga & Lakshmi Narasimha Temple. Early in the evening, on our way to the hotel, we stop briefly at Underground Temple, Danaik’s Enclosure and the Noblemen’s Quarters.

After breakfast at the hotel, today the guests will be driven to Hampi Bazaar from where the offbeat trail to Vitthala Temple begins.

A short walk from bazaar will guide you through old Hampi as you explore the heritage & culture of the temple city all the while being narrated exclusive insights by our eminent storyteller.

We start with visiting Achyutaraya temple. The temple complex and the ruined market street in front of it sit in a semi cloistered valley created by two hills – the Gandhamadana & Matanga hills. Partially due to its off location from the main tourist track and the hidden nature of the temple’s location makes it less crowded.

Following this guests will be further guided to the Kodandarama Temple- a momentous sacred structure than as an architectonic beauty. Inner sanctum of the temple has huge idols of Lord Rama, his brother Laxmana and his wife Sita. The statues of the idols were carved out from a single natural boulder.

From here guests embark on a coracle boat to explore the idiosyncratic ride to Vitthala temple, enroute quick stopping at Koti/Savira Lingeshwara and cave. Upon reaching the dockyard, we hike to Vithhala temple crossing King’s Balance.

Post lunch, we head to Queen’s Bath, Royal enclosure, Hazara Rama Temple and end the temple tour at Zenana Enclosure.

Dinner & overnight at hotel.

After breakfast our guests check-out of their hotel and are driven back to Hubli / Bangalore to embark on their onward journey.
