This morning after breakfast we begin our day by visiting the Local Market and then the WWII Cemetery, which was designed by
Colin St. Claire Oakes. The cemetery encloses 1,420 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War and 1 non-war burial. At the highest point in the cemetery stands the KOHIMA CREMATION MEMORIAL commemorating 917 Hindu and Sikh soldiers whose remains were cremated in accordance with their faith. At the lower end of the cemetery, near the entrance, is a memorial to the 2nd Division. It bears the inscription; “When you go home Tell them of us and say, For your tomorrow, We gave our today.”

This is followed by lunch at a suggested location. Further, our guests are driven to Kisama to experience the biggest cultural extravaganza of Nagaland, the Hornbill Festival. Here, guests visit the Morungs, where tribal culture and attire are displayed and various tribal music &
dances are performed.

As guests return to Kohima, dinner is arranged at the hotel. Overnight in Kohima.

Post breakfast, guests are driven to Kigwema village. During the World War II, Japanese troops invaded this small village on 4 April 1944. However, to the surprise of the inhabitants of the village, the troops did not exploit them, unlike previous invaders that have in the process impacted the region.

As we visit this town, the guests’ are further acquainted with the culture and tradition of a Traditional Angami village. Lunch will be at a suggested location. Our guests are then escorted to Kisama for more cultural rendezvous. Here, guests witness the festivities, local
cultural activities, visit the Bamboo Pavilion, Museum and other various stalls at the venue and experience some local delicacies
of the Nagas.

Following this eventful day, our guests are driven back to the hotel. Dinner is followed by overnight at the hotel in Kohima.

Following breakfast our guests are driven to Khonoma, “The First green Village in the Country”. Here, we witness the Angami tribe, which calls this village their home. Our guests are escorted to explore the village by visiting Morungs, traditional gates, Forts, and local people all the while being narrated exclusive insights about the traditions and cultural lifestyle of the local people by our storyteller.

As guests return to Kohima, they can partake in the local concerts & festivals taking place within the city. Dinner is arranged at the hotel.

After breakfast, as our guests check-out of their hotels, they are driven back to Dimapur airport from where they embark on their onward journey.
