Post breakfast you will proceed to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the religious place for Sikhs and see the community Kitchen. In Sikhism the practice of the langar, or free kitchen, is believed to have been adopted by the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak. Proceed to Old Delhi and drive past to the Red Fort built by Emperor Shah Jahan (outside visit only); visit Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India and later hop on a cycle rickshaw and traverse through the lanes of Chandni Chowk, the shopping center of old Delhi. Drive past India Gate – A War Memorial Arch. Also drive past the President’s house, Parliament house, secretariat
buildings . Proceed to a local restaurant for lunch. Visit Qutab Minar, the tallest stone tower in India inscribed with Quranic Verses.

Dinner will be at offered at the terrace of Qla restaurant, overlooking the beautifully lit Qutub Minar.

Early morning get transferred to the Airport to board flight to Leh.

Upon arrival, met by your guide at the airport and get transferred to your hotel.

Day will be at leisure as it is mandate to acclimatize on the day of arrival.

There will be no activity on your day of arrival as it is medically mandated that you relax and undergo minimal exertion to enable you to acclimatize to the rarefied oxygen levels at this high-altitude. The Excursion Specialist at Chamba Camp, Thiksey will meet with you to discuss the itinerary suggested and help you plan your excursions and make changes if required, to suit your interests, choices and leisure.

Morning: Today brings a late start, leaving the morning free for you to enjoy a leisurely breakfast and walk around the camp site, taking in the sights and the peaceful milieu where each tent opens out on to alfalfa pastures. Or, you may take an easy, invigorating walk in the vicinity of the camp through the lush farmlands of Nyerma, with insight into ancient knowledge of medicinal herbs, agricultural practices and religious life in the nunnery.

Afternoon: After lunch proceed on a gentle orientation tour of Leh. Our Leh City Heritage Walk ushers you to the labyrinth of the by-lanes of Leh City under the gaze of the imposing 17th century nine storied Leh City Palace. Our walk takes you through this last big frontier town where everything from daily needed rations, locally spun woolen clothing, rugs, yak fur and yak tail and ritualistic items can be sourced. The city boulevard presents a cauldron of shops which sell Pashmina shawls, stoles to Tibetan handicraft items. A few scattered curio shops also offer Tibetan silver jewelry and traditional Ladakhi jewelry set with turquoise, jade and emerald. Your walk concludes near Chubi village where your vehicle will pick you up and take you to Shanti Stupa, perched upon a great vantage point over Leh, with spectacular views of this mesmerizing stone strewn landscape.

Thiksey Monastery Visit AM: An early morning start with tea and coffee followed by a visit to the Thiksey monastery, which stands about a kilometer from your camp. This beautiful monastery houses a two storey statue of the Maitreya Buddha seated on a lotus and boasts of a spectacular view of the Leh valley. At the monastery, you will have the privilege to participate in the Buddhist morning prayer ceremony at sunrise. Return to the camp for a hearty breakfast.

Later: After breakfast, proceed to explore the jewel in the crown of the Drukpa lineage, the Hemis Monastery, the biggest monastic institution of Ladakh, situated about 23 km. (45 min.) from Thiksey. Built in a secluded valley, the monastery belongs to the Drukpa School or the Dragon Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Explore the many interesting facets of this institution, established under the patronage of King Senge Namygal in the 17th century, where young
lamas are taught literature, history, philosophy, yoga and tantra. The monastery halls are adorned with beautiful statues and mural paintings. Rest of the day at Leisure.

Optional:- Ride with The Wind Wari-La Excursion Morning: Post breakfast drive to one of the most scenic passes in Ladakh – the Wari La (5,300 mtr. / 17,384 ft.) – which is also the world’s fourth-highest motor-able road. You are 504 m (1,663 ft.) above Mt. Blanc in Europe already. Wari La is the perfect escape and a must see for any nature or outdoor enthusiast. This pass connects the two most exotic and most travelled valleys in this trans-Himalayan region. You get a breathtaking view of the Nubra valley, which lies beyond the pass, as well as the many villages dotting the Indus valley. Our well curated experiences along with an option for hot lunch in the outdoors promises to be one of the most delectable visual and gastronomic feasts. After a short safety briefing after lunch, you will then cycle down the best track that the Ladakh Himalayas has to offer. The road criss-crosses its way down the mountain side into the green oasis of Shakti village.

Morning: Following breakfast this morning, continue your journey to Nubra Valley drive through Khardungla you can have stunning view of Indus Valley and the Karakoram ranges if the weather remains truly clear. Later descend to Nubra Valley; Local scholars say that its original name was Ldumra (the valley of flowers). The Shyok River meets the Nubra or Siachen River to form a large valley that separates the Ladakh and Karakoram Ranges. This is one of the highest motorable roads in the world, passing over the Khardung la pass at a height of 5602 m. The road begins from Leh itself and winds its way up to reach the Khardung La. The views from here are magnificent and take in the Zanskar and Karakoram ranges.

Evening: Visit Diskit Monastery it is the oldest and largest Buddhist monastery in the Nubra valley. It belongs to the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism founded by Changzem Tserab Zangpo, a disciple of Tsong Khapa, founder of the Gelugpa in the 14th century.

Morning: After a sumptuous breakfast, we drive to the picturesque village of Sumur located across the Shyok and Nubra Rivers. You can also opt. to drive towards the most northern road on the Siachen Glacier route and then hike towards the hidden lake – Yarab Tso – that is one of the high altitude and sacred lakes in the Nubra Valley. It holds crystal-clear holy water, secluded within a rocky terrain.

Evening: We usher you for an adventurous ride on the double hump Bactrian camel on the sand dunes of the Hunder cold desert. Relive the dreams and glories of the merchants, mercenaries and monks as they trudged these very sands in search of Gold, Glory and God in the days of yore.

Overnight at Nubra Valley

Morning: Today we take you on once in a lifetime journey to satiate your quest and see this geographical wonder -the longest and largest brackish lake in Asia, shared by two super countries – India and China. This journey entails an early morning start as we drive to explore one of the remotest regions of Ladakh – Changthang. The drive takes you over the third highest motorable pass in the world and eventually arrives at Pangong Tso. Check in to your mobile satellite camp in Pangong. Partake in a fresh lunch high above the lake waterline from where you can enjoy the essence of solitude. In the evening, take a gentle walk on the shores of this mesmerizing lake as the location provides you with many photo opportunities along the way as you sight herds of wild horses, playful Marmots
against a backdrop of nature’s wildest spectrum of colours. Time stands still amidst the restless waves and we encourage you to walk alongside the lakeshore.

Overnight at Pangong Camp

Morning: Following breakfast this morning, drive back to Leh. On arrival into the Leh Valley, check into the Chamba Camp, Thiksey. Rest of the evening is at leisure to relax and unwind in the luxurious environs of your camp.
